Data is from the August 2017 StatCounter report titled "Global Stats." StatCounter is a web analytics service. "Global Stats" is calculated on the basis of more than 15 billion hits per month, by people from all over the world on their 3+ million member sites. By collating the data in this way, they track the activity of third-party visitors to their member sites. They do not calculate stats based on the activity of their members. This helps to minimize bias in the data and ensures a random sample is achieved. For search engine stats, they analyze every hit referred by a search engine. For social media stats, they analyze every hit referred by a social media site. The data is not manipulated in any way. No artificial weightings are used.
