More than four in five US adults viewed an online video in 2007, up from about three-quarters in 2006, according to a Harris Interactive survey conducted in November.

The number of respondents who watched a video on YouTube increased over the past year, from 42% in 2006 to 65% in 2007. About 40% of US adults said they had watched videos on a TV network Website.

More than one-quarter of respondents said they would be likely to watch "a lot more" TV episodes (30%) or full-length movies (28%) if more were available online.

Only 8% said they would watch "a lot more" amateur or user-generated videos (8%), news (14%) or sports videos (13%) if more were available online.

The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive and included 1,587 YouTube viewers among the 2,455 US adults surveyed in November.
