Data Specialist

eMarketer is looking for a Data Specialist to work with numbers using our proprietary database software. The position involves data entry, fact checking, analysis and calculation using Excel.

Our ideal Data Specialist will have substantial interest in statistics, online marketing and ebusiness trends. The data entry work can be repetitive; however, the job does involve creative thinking.

The successful candidate must be a quick learner and team player who is extremely detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, can work independently and excels at multitasking. A bachelor’s degree is required. This position is based in New York City.

International Researcher / Writer — Brazil (based in New York City)

eMarketer is seeking a Researcher / Writer with a background in secondary market research in Brazil and interest in digital media and online marketing. The chosen candidate will aid in the collection, filtering and organization of secondary market research data for the purpose of disseminating relevant news within the organization, producing editorial content and addressing client information requests. Candidate must be familiar with online and mobile platforms and comfortable interpreting surveys and writing about numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and interpret qualitative and quantitative data from various sources related to digital marketing.
  • Research and write a minimum of four reports annually with support from internal research staff.
  • Stay on top of digital and mobile trends, locally and around the world.
  • Track multiple industry sources to identify, filter and collect key industry market research data and trends.
  • Provide research support to eMarketer analysts and writers.
  • Work closely with the research and editorial teams to further develop eMarketer's content strategy and focus.
  • Participate in developing topics for future reports.

Requirements:

  • Native Portuguese speaker, with fluent English as a second language.
  • This is a full-time position based in New York City.
  • 3+ years' experience in secondary market research; market analysis experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as journalism, marketing or economics.
  • Must be a strong business writer who can write clearly, persuasively and cleanly for an audience of marketers.
  • Must have knowledge of digital marketing and media as well as local marketing trends.
  • 3+ years' experience writing about online marketing or digital media for a news publication, industry blog or other media outlet. Will also consider candidates who have 3+ years' experience writing research reports for a market research firm, PR firm or ad agency.
  • Must be good with statistics, numbers and charts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills.

Industries Analyst

eMarketer is looking for a superb analyst / writer to join our industries team. You will research and write a range of bylined content, from short articles to 20-page reports. You must be familiar with digital marketing, and comfortable interpreting surveys and writing about numbers.

Responsibilities:

  • Write about digital marketing in a variety of industries for the eMarketer client base. Content will include e-newsletter articles and in-depth reports on focused topics.
  • Conduct interviews with industry executives for use in various eMarketer content.
  • Stay on top of trends in digital marketing and media, in a variety of industries.
  • Participate in developing topics for future reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher: preferably in journalism, English, communications or business.
  • Must be an exceptionally strong business writer who can write clearly, persuasively and cleanly.
  • 3+ years’ experience writing about online marketing for a news publication, industry blog or other media outlet. Will also consider candidates who have 3+ years experience writing research reports for a market research firm, PR firm or ad agency.
  • Comfortable with numbers and have an interest in analyzing data, surveys and forecasts.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate your ideas using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and blogging platforms.
  • Ability to work independently on projects that can take anywhere from 1 day to 6 weeks.
  • Highly prefer NY metro area resident

New Business

The New Business team initiates our relationship with digital marketers world wide. Client acquisition is our goal. Success in this role will be determined by the rep's ability to find and qualify the needs of the prospect, articulate the eMarketer solution, drive a sense of urgency and close the deal. A successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably with some grounding in digital marketing in a complex selling environment, a strong work ethic, and a demonstrable track record of success. Sales experience in travel, finance, or academic vertical markets are a plus for immediate openings.

Account Management

The Account Management team is responsible for managing and growing the client relationship. The successful account manager will work diligently to ensure customer success and look for opportunities to broaden our relationship. This can include activities ranging from orchestrating the initial roll out of eMarketer, to ongoing check-ins with existing users and formal presentations with senior management. Our customers' needs are as varied as our client base. Adaptability, excellent time management, and ability to demonstrate value to all levels of an organization are key attributes. We're looking for proactive problem solvers, who can gain the trust of our clients, understand their business needs, and find new ways for eMarketer to help them fulfill their goals. A successful candidate will have strong sales skills, a dedication to client success, some knowledge of digital marketing and media, and a track record to back it up.
